How is FACE making a difference?

The FACE Program, is a crucial program because we are finding that many of our kids are coming in and prepared for kindergarten. We are finding that parents are believing that it is our job only to educate their children. So, we are trying to establish parents as partners in their education with their child.

What Is FACE?

A program for kids ages 0 to 8, parents, and primary caretakers. Built on a model that respects American Indian culture and traditions, the FACE program aims for school reform in three settings—home, school, and community.

Celebrate 30 Years of FACE!

Family and Child Education (FACE) has reached a thirty-year milestone and we celebrate this monumental endeavor. This is a partnership between the federal Bureau of Indian Education, the National Center for Families Learning and Parents as Teachers National Center. FACE is a two generation model with an emphasis on family literacy through an integrated early childhood/parental involvement program. This unique program was developed specifically for American Indian families matching highly trained, local, Indigenous professionals with families from pregnancy through their children’s first years of life.
